Bauer Media is one of the UK's biggest media companies. Through their magazines, radio shows and websites, Bauer reaches over twenty-two million people in the UK alone - some of their brands include Grazia, Closer, Kiss FM and Hits Radio. The importance of local news is not forgotten about within Bauer, and behind each large radio station name is smaller, local stations.
During my time with Bauer, I worked as part of the different teams that run Greatest Hits Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales, GHR Yorkshire Coast, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. My daily responsibilities included writing hourly news bulletins, cueing, editing and packaging wraps, and interviewing relevant contributors. The variety of stories covered was huge; from the Tour de Yorkshire to alcoholism after pubs reopened.
